Shadow Catchers is the name early Native Americans gave photographers believing that as long  as the likeness of the thing existed the Shadow, or Spirit, of the photograph was 'caught''.  Our work is dedicated to this precept and to preserving the Spirit, Environment and History of the Pacific Northwest.  Although the Pacific Northwest Photographer Edward Curtis is the most famous of the Shadow Catchers - there were many many others with as much talent that have been forgotten.
